I decided to try a new medium: scratchboard. It was fun, and this is my first attempt at the medium. It is done on treated masonite. The process is kinda like etching, where you use an exacto knife or some other tool to scratch away at a layer of india ink to reveal a layer of white clay underneath. It is a really relaxing process, but takes quite a long time. this is 5”x 7” and took me about 20 hours. 🙂

Totoro watercolor.

Little change of pace, I wanted to do something silly. School has been really busy, so I haven’t had time to post. This is the main character, Totoro from the movie of the same name. The film was made in 1988.
